One of my new year’s resolutions is to work on more collaborative projects. I was lucky enough to be asked to be part of this year’s colour journal project. And yes, I am using the British spelling since the project is run by a few U.K. artists and I live in London.
There are seven of us and seven different colors. Mine is Crimson Red and will travel around the world before coming back to me. I am calling mine The Little Red Book. I chose a small watercolor Moleskin.
I chose red because it’s a colour that conveys both passion, love and violence. There’s a lot of meaning and depth behind red.
I kept some of my pages simple because I wanted to see what the others would add to them. One of my favorite things about collaborations is seeing how others interpret your art and add to it.
This skull design is by far my favorite. I went with a day of the dead theme for this one.
